Will we get a new admin? Will new areas that have been around for years ever get installed?

We are waiting word from Harley at this time. He has spoken to everyone. ;D I'm sure who ever becomes Head Admin will make sure everything that is ready to be added to the mud gets added right away. What I would like to see everyone talk about is what they want to see added to the mud. Examples would be new races, classes, quest ideas etc.

Well after looking over whats in the Immortal directory's, there were only 2 complete (and i use the word complete loosely) areas. One of them I added to the game. The other is being looked into. Hexous is going through the files.
There is also 2 more areas that seem to just need a few things. After I add what is needed to them I'll put those in as well.
Just a little update to everyone.

That's a d**n shame. What were the admins and imms doing all these years? From Dean to Moira, nothing. I can't for the life of me understand why they didn't tell Harley long ago that he should find someone new.
So many people came through Zynna over the years and offered to code only to be refused and even scorned by Moira. It's almost as if they wanted the mud to stagnate and fail. I just don't get it.
Thank God sanity has been restored!

Here is what I think the problem was. David and Moira didn't give the immortals that were there enough help. Most people who want to code have no idea how its done and must learn. LPC isn't something you can just pick up all by yourself. You can find the basics in LPC manuals but each mud is different and manuals most times only give "basics". Now each mud normally has a nice library with examples of basic things like rooms, NPC's, weapons and armour. But without explanations of these things all you get is very cookie cutter kinds rooms and objects. Nothing unique is very made for the lack of experience coding. Also access seemed to be a problem as well. Seems David and Moira didn't trust a soul. The only people who had access above their rank of immortality was Hexous. This isn't good. They didn't allow their Immortals to read the files that were ingame. So examples of unique code they didn't have access to. I hope to give all the future immortals this kinda freedom to read what is already in the mud, get ideas and make whatever their minds can imagine.

That would explain why nothing ever got done. It doesn't explain why they refused to let others do anything. Do you think they will ever answer these questions?
The best way to protect the mud is to improve it as you've been doing. I won't beat this dead horse. The new crew is pretty awesome, no need to dwell on the old.

I guess I'd be the perfect example of that. I wanted to be able to build and help out, but I really had no idea of what I was doing. Long story short, my Immortal got deleted because I wan't making progress. I had access to the basic templates, the help files, and maybe part of the HH directory. What I did build was basically what Samson described, rooms and monsters with nothing special.
